My school never did a match day celebration where we were all together. We each opened our emails by ourselves, or with those we chose to be there. I think that's much better.

I matched in 2020 so all match days were cancelled. I rented a cabin in the woods with a hot tub while I awaited my email. That was a positive of COVID.

so happy im able to relive the moment of me matching at my second to last choice (bc of location). i fell to the floor crying … my family thought it was happy tears and continued to film and cheer

OMG 🤣 my husband didn’t match the first time and had to do a prelim year. Safe to say we were a little traumatized, matched gen surg the second time around though!

I still remember match day, fell down my list. Had to smile/be happy even though I was crushed on the inside. In hindsight I ended up at the best program for me, with the best faculty,and best friends
