Colorado State University is moving forward with the installation of 12 large electronic billboards around its Fort Collins campus, despite a longstanding city ordinance that prohibits such signage elsewhere in the community. Eight of the billboards will be placed along the campus perimeter and four within the campus itself. While city officials expressed concern that the move undermines decades of efforts to limit visual clutter, CSU is exempt from local regulations as a state entity operating on state-owned land.
