@cbsnews: As former President Donald Trump worked at a McDonald's drive-through for a Pennsylvania campaign event Sunday, CBS News' Olivia Rinaldi asked if the experience made him think the minimum wage should be raised. The current minimum wage federally, and in Pennsylvania, is $7.25 an hour. The last federal increase was in 2009. #trump #money #mcdonalds #pa #vote
First minimum wage doesn't need to go up, the cost of living needs to go down second, it's probably been like 6 years since I've seen any job pay under $10hr besides maybe sweatshops

Guys we can’t have these jobs go up to $30/hr….. that would be a mess… more needs to be done on the government side to make living EASIER. For the property owners, the renters, everybody!

it is MINIMUM wage ... you're not supposed to stay at that wage your whole life. it is a starting point! if you've been at a job years and had no pay increase find a new job

if minimum wage goes up, that means things in the economy goes up. do you think the fry cook should be making as much as a mechanic, factory worker, carpenter, etc? why is a penny worthless? because everyone has a penny. same deal if everyone had $15 an hr. more goes into play then just a wage increase that goes un thought of. if you want more, get a better job, that simple.

honestly minimum wage shouldn’t go up, i’d say it’s perfect for where it’s at, if only the costs of living would be lower then there wouldn’t be a need for raising minimum wage

Here in Wisconsin minimum wage is officially 7.25$, McDonalds employees seem to get like 12-15$ an hour depending on their shift. You’re not supposed to be making a living off that level of a job

What do you guys think these companies will do if min wage goes up? Do you think they’re just gonna take the net loss? No of course not, they’re going to raise their prices and/or fire more workers.

Employees should be paid what they are worth. If they are not satisfied with the pay or benefits, seek employment elsewhere. Most “min wage” jobs where I live are all being paid $15/hr. 2x min wage.

That answer is a “no.” Whenever any politician does that, the response from the interviewer should be, “I take that as a no.” DJT is declining rapidly, folks. Behold his aged and vile brain 🙄

I think a lot of people don’t understand that most jobs don’t even pay minimum wage, when I worked in fast food I made close to $13 in a state where minimum wage was 7.25

Minimum wage is 22.50 it was 17 here in cali but when the fast food workers asked for more raises everything skyrocketed in price, makes sense a lot of people don’t understand economics unfortunately tho.

To all these folks saying "it ain't right they make almost as much as me..."
What is so significantly less difficult about FastFood vs your "real" job? I've done $15K-210K, digging to snrmgt.

Minimum wage should be adjusted at state and local level, not the federal level. California has some of the highest minimum wage laws because it’s expensive here, but it wouldn’t work for all states.

Minimum wage has already gone up not by law but by industry standards. It’s really hard to find a job even under $10 and hour. These aren’t meant to be lifelong jobs anyway they are a stepping stone

Listen, minimum wage is just that a minimum. Many of these jobs pay much more but, is the goal for people to aspire to work at McDonald’s or other jobs? Or is the goal to move into a career.

mcdonalds is a entry level job, not a career path, a way to make money while your in school, then move on to a better job, thats why its minimum wage, its a place to get job experience💀💀

The fact that the minimum was in the US is $7 (like £5) and the UK minimum for adults is £11.44 is crazy… how do minimum wage workers in America survive?! 🥺

You can't keep raising the wage. it doesn't work when the cost of living goes up to match. I'm making 20 an hour and it is barely enough still. if I was making this 10-15 years ago I'd he living good

Well, McDonald's pays 27.30 CHF/ hour in Switzerland. That's the equivalent to 31.50 USD, so 4.5 times more. And yes, everything is more expensive in Switzerland, but not by factor 4.5.
Mcdonalds in missouri is $15/hr starting out. I dont think that should go much higher and definitely should NEVER be over $20/hr. Its burgers and fries guys bffr. It used to motivate you to pursue—

I feel like too many people here don't realize minimum wage is STATE based. some places like Cali are 15 while others have been stuck at 8 or 7 dollars until recently. there used to be a point where you could buy a home with minimum wage. living wages went up when minimum wage stayed the same
