Born again in Christ means your past no longer defines you, no matter what others say or what you’ve done. The enemy loves to bring up old mistakes, trying to make us question who we are, but our identity is secure in Jesus. Today, the enemy tried to remind me of my past, but God's Word brought me back to the truth: we are forgiven, redeemed, and made new. We don’t live in the shadows of yesterday because in Christ, we are a new creation, and nothing can change that. Stand firm in who God says you are. 🙏🏽 1. You Are a New Creation in Christ "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17,) No matter what your past holds, when you are born again, your old self is gone. You are brand new in Christ. 2. Your Identity is Rooted in Christ "For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." (Colossians 3:3,) Your identity is no longer shaped by your past mistakes or what others say. Your true self is found in Christ alone. 3. You Are Forgiven and Free "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." (Ephesians 1:7,) The voices of guilt or condemnation have no place in your life. You are forgiven, and your past sins no longer define you. 4. You Are Chosen and Loved "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession." (1 Peter 2:9,) God has chosen you, called you His own, and His love for you is constant. No one can take that away. 5. Your Past is Not Your Future "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11,) God has a purpose and a future for you, and it's not tied to the mistakes or hardships of your past. 6. You Are Redeemed for a Purpose "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10,) God redeemed you with purpose. Your past doesn’t hinder you from fulfilling His plans; it equips you for them. 7. The Enemy's Accusations Hold No Power "And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, 'Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down.'" (Revelation 12:10, #) The enemy may try to accuse you, but his words are powerless because of Christ's victory. Your identity is secure. 8. You Are Empowered by the Holy Spirit "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses..." (Acts 1:8,) You have the Holy Spirit living inside you, guiding and empowering you. Your past no longer controls you. 9. God Sees You as Righteous "For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21,) Through Christ, God sees you as righteous, not as a sinner. Your past wrongs are covered by His righteousness. 10. Your Identity is Secure in Christ Forever "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand." (John 10:27-28,) No voice of the past or accusation from the enemy can take away your secure identity in Christ. You belong to Him forever.
