@wordmachinist: ***Halloween Spooktacular Day 21*** NOT VLAD For I am not Vlad, and I am unrelated so spare me the scoff or clearing of throat. Read my words and make your mind up, on all you've heard and think you know. Dreams are not possible for the likes of me, for I slumber during the bulb of day. While cushioned gray walls envelop me in a loving, cocoon embrace. Awaken in darkness, it's comfort soothes languidly my black soul. I rise for the offerings of the night. Warm inside, despite my thin cloak. I have no use for the vanity of mirrors, possessing not a solitary fragment of reflective glass. Oiling my incisors with an eel secretion for the best pearly whites. Over the years I have learned to enjoy real food, though it provides no sustenance. I've even grown fond of pasta with marinara, though I despise even a hint of garlic. I am a deeply religious man, not self-righteous, and in no form of the cross and alter type. The works of Crowley, Fanghis, and Bathory adorn my meager library collection. Water slakes not my undying thirst, although I must admit a joyous tinge at the cool feel of it slithering down my gullet. But never the kind from strange vials. A rare, uh disorder prevents me from basking in the rays of your sun. Dark glasses and SPF one-thousand are useless, as in movies. Besides, I work best by candelabra. I hunt, though never with sharp wooden pikes, and my prey is given a ghost of a chance. I devour my kill, but not of innocent blood. Preferring the wicked, insolent curs instead. I am NOT evil. This is important. For I am who I am, be it curse or blessing. A romantic soul without apology. And I am privy to flying on leathery wings. We live amongst you, though you'll not know it. Awareness is blind in the human condition.
