This is why I completely stop going to restaurants and if I am asked to tip when picking up my food I just stop going to that place too, I am assuming they don’t pay well so I don’t support that.

Yup. $2.13 an hour and employee is still required to clean and stock and do Ann sorts of manual labor that have nothing to do with the tables they served. Restaurants are soooo screwing the worker.

When I was in college I felt terrible for the waiting staff and cooks. The owner did this to them and sometimes they didn’t even make $70 working a 10 hr shift keep in mind that back then the wage $11

FYI, each employee’s pay must meet state and federal minimum wage requirements. If employees’ total compensation (wages plus tips) does not meet minimum wage, they have to supplement the employees pay

in Ontario min. wage is $17.20 which is what servers make and they get 15-20% on top of that.

Back in high school I was a server (my 1st job) and the managers paid us minimum wage ($4.40 hr) and let us keep our tips. They told us they didn’t care about our tips BUT SERVICE. TIL this day….

check your laws. Some states the businesses have to make up the difference. The hourly wage is still $7/hr but they dropped it hoping the customer will pay. however, you still have to make $7/hr and

THANK YOU!!!Somebody had to say it!!! because it seems that if the customer don't tip, it's their fault that the waitress or weiter is not getting paid and not the ACTUAL OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT!!

I worked for exactly one day as a server. It was during a big storm back east but I made it to work. No customers so the managers found all kinds of busy work for us including scrubbing the baseboards in the entire kitchen. Heck of a deal for about $15 in wages. I was too young to know better.

I don’t work in a tipping industry but I think it is absolutely not fair to the employees. Tipping should be in addition, like a bonus for good service.
