the only way you can use that legally as a walkie-talkie is if you get a ham radio license or a GFR license! if you try to operate one without either license you can get a minimum $5,000 fine by the FCC and they'll take your radio equipment!

Literally said HAM radio…FCC licensing required for voice communication…in most cases. I only know this as a General Class operator. 🙄

in our area 911 has to program them you cannot get the codes and unless your Fire EMS or place it's illegal to use them I was a paramedic for 27 years and corner
