Just started 2nd yr highschool,my bff was knocked off his bike on the way to school by a lorry.I went to his funeral & that was that. We had to just carry on as normal I have been sad ever since 1989

So sorry Ralf, that’s a terrible trauma. I was a bit older than you, 16, when my Mum died. There’s a definite before and after. Took me years to get over it.

I was 10 when my cousin died at 4 days old. It isn't the same as losing a sibling but is shaped my life. I totally get the rage. And in those days people didn't really consider how children deal with grief x

Same here. Never spoken to any of my friends about my childhood. Not even when drunk. Family weren’t invited to my wedding. No contact until last weeks of my mum life. Then made amends. Thankfully

I know where he coming from, my childhood was brilliant. till one day everything changed just before I went into secondary school. it lives rent free in head head to this day.
