Practice the wood burning on a scrap piece of wood to scale to see if you like it and would be comfortable doing it.

I'd paint....if you get sick of it you can repaint. if you wood burn you'll have to replace it again.

I’ve been woodburning for 15+ years, but on a surface that size…I’d probably paint. 😬 Woodburning that would be like drawing a mural with a ballpoint pen. Amazing if you can do it, but A Lot.

woodburning sounds great! just keep in mind that dirt etc. might collect in the tiny crevices and it can be rlly annoying to clean

more stone! yes! the wood burning is a good idea. I would probably practice on smaller pieces of wood before you tackle the panels.
