Antenna nerd here. A multi band base antenna is what you’re needing. Also you want 50ohm coax that TV coax is 75ohm.

Mike “Beans” 🇮🇹 :
Winegard is likely 75 ohm coax. Can’t say for sure but Winegard products are typically in the 75 ohm realm.

Ham’s don’t throw ANYTHING away. It might have a part you need 20 years from now 🤣

RadioBob :
Tv coax is 75 ohm, solid conductor and little box is a preamplifier that need a power source. Those antennas are marginal but do work to some extent depending on how far you’re from the TX.

Any makeshift antenna you want to try, use a manual tuner or one that will auto tune 10:1 SWR also 50ohm is what you want in coax.

You can get an adapter and use it as a receiver antenna. F female to pl-259. It’s a digital tv local antenna. Good to save if cable goes out

Strange but honest. :
Most TV coax is 75 ohm cable. That white box is a rf booster, black box for power for booster. I have pressed p-3 500 hardline 75 ohm coax to legal limit. You can toss what you have there.

TV coax is NOT the same as ham radio coax…unless you strip the plastic off and use the solid copper wire in a homemade dipole.

Too thin. Will be lossy. Pays to get the good stuff rather than spending on materials you will end up replacing.

Test Account :
The key is it has to be both the right impedance of the cable and the antenna has to be tuned for the frequency range. Which once you have in your hand does not look like it’ll work with either

I've used rg59 used for security cameras it has copper braid for shield and 18 ga for center conductor. Remember with antennas resonance is key for best results!
