I saw the full list of banned books on here yesterday and was absolutely astounded at some. Emma, Jane Austen, Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein to name a few. Ridiculous

Amen. As a retired (this year) HS English teacher in FL I retired mostly bc of the book bans. I had to teach reading wo books!!! When they banned Shakespeare and Homer FULL I had enough!

My 8th grade teacher let me borrow her copy of breaking dawn & made my mom sign off on it due to the ‘maturity’ in it. You think my mom cared?! Hell no she was happy I was reading lol
