Taxes were much higher back then. Good luck raising taxes. Don’t compare it as a % of gdp.. compare it as a % of government revenue or total taxes collected.

it all depends on the shelf life of the assets, AI will make most the assets obsolete, usa will have to budget for a one off cost say 50 percent of replacing those. assets
