This was an exciting video for me to view bc I have a character who doesn’t have their own body and the best way I found to tackle their POV was to put it in 1st. It’s deeply important to the plot 1/2

What if the main narration is third person and every now and then you give some POV character interiority via some first person thoughts. An example being Game Of Thrones (I know, sorry).

the first book I published switches. 1st POV for the FMC because her narrative is about internal emotion and her perception of things. 3rd POV (always labeled) for things happening externally TO her.

If you're switching between 1st and 3rd, it really needs to serve a purpose. A great example of how and why to switch povs is "Blink" by K. L. Slater.

I hate it as a reader. I was so confused in the ACOTAR series. Idk it throws me out of it.

Craig Alanson is a good example of a writer who does this effectively, for anyone who wants an example.
