Farms in the uk are probably worth 2 to 6.5mil depending on the acres they have . That’s bc the farmer family would world for years to to build that acreage up . Livestock pricing is not as great

If you have more than 1m in assets you are a millionaire. The ave farm in UK is worth £3m in land (land is an asset) therefore the ave farmer is a millionaire. It’s nothing to do with profit.

There is a big difference between a job and a lifestyle. Farmers have a lifestyle not a job. You get to do what u love,in a beautiful place, the rest of us do what we can to pay the bills.

if you make 400k and buy more farmland will for 375k would your profit only count as 25k or does it factor in the cost of expansion as profit ?

My understanding is threshold is 1 million for one person or 2 million for married couple who also get 500k each for property on land so still 3 million tax free potentially

It is horrible family farms are disappearing even in US. I do agree with one of the viewer said about doing a living trust / trust. Our accountant recommended this for us. Inheritance taxes are out 🤬

I know a few farmers around where i live, small holdings and large , not one works a 5day week, has a million or more in the bank and have huge expenses of equipment, vet fees, worming, etc etc, 😏
