If you’re just looking for heat get an espar Airtronic. Basically indestructible. 1250 bucks. Super cheap to maintain.

my manager told me I had high idle and I need to watch it. I said "ok I'm watching it idle. what am I looking for?" it's 97 degrees I'm not gonna be away from home and be uncomfortable

most trucks will consume at least a half gallon an hour at regular idle, more if you bump it up. but, it's not just fuel cost, it's engine wear, too. newer trucks with emissions systems..good luck.😀

Should be able to pull up the mileage and it will show gallons per hr also mine is using 2 gallons per hour at 950rpm and the fan locked on

Apu is great to have. especially when your engine quits and you're in minus degree temperatures. I don't like owl in my truck and low RPMs and I can't bump this one up or it shuts off.
