@emilyhuntk: I absolutly LOVE my wooden utensils. Not only are they beautiful and functional but they are non toxic and won’t scratch your pots and pans! Yes, they are a little more upkeep than other options but they are SO worth it! #nontoxicliving #nontoxickitchenitems #crunchykitchen #woodenutensils #woodenspoons #nontoxichome #cozykitchen #cottagecore #christian #christiaiving #christianhomemaker

Mineral oil is petroleum based. You can use coconut oil and bees wax to condition without worry about it going rancid. Also, if you’re washing frequently there’s no real worry about it going rancid.

I personally prefer to use tallow instead. mineral oil is made from petroleum and is something I stay away from. not arguing just offering an alternative.

If wood is naturally antmicrobial& traps bacteria that dies shortly, why do you need mineral oil to prevent bacterial buildup?🤔

2 questions Can I still do this even after I’ve been using them? I never cleaned them with oil when I first got them. And Do you need to continue to clean them with oil or just soak/hand wash them

I bought a wooden cookie stamp; to start off, do I just wash with soap and water and let it air dry before applying the oil??

Do you prepare raw meat on your wooden board? I’ve seen posts discouraging that but I don’t want to use plastic anymore
