a common mistake for slide players is to touch the bell with a finger as they are going to 3rd or 4th position. if you avoid doing this, it will help in fast massages. it's a bad habit.

Remington exercises are super important, but only useful when done with intent. I was told during lessons in college that the trombone is a giant tuning slide, and that has stuck with me

I’m an 8th grade trombone player and the only problem is I have is sometimes I have bad sound and my mouth piece gets covered in spit or sweat so it’s hard to play

Not professional but I find the having a relatively loose wrist when holding the slide allows for more fluid movements, and obviously remembering to make sure the slide isn’t sticky!

I was always told to hold a pencil or metal straw or something between your lips are like you would if you were playing and see how long and steady you can hold it straight out.

another tip when it comes to trombone, is you wanna have a snappy slide, meaning as soon as your done one note you want to move to the other note. other wise your going to drag (1)

Fast slide. There's a tendency to move slower when the music is slow. (applies to valve brass too)

That first tip is great! However don’t get the idea that doing what is called a gliss is a very bad this and you should never do it. It is a fun thing to do when you are showing friends things.

Great tips!! The best exercise I was ever taught is playing long tones and focusing on your sound and big air. Air fixes everything, for all ages!!
