@habeeb_akande1: Qur'an teacher Wisam Sharieff is a depraved monster who abused his position to sexually exploit a minor, according to an FBI affidavit. Wisam told his female student "that achieving an 0rgasm would help her spiritually and allow her to communicate with Allah better." Wasim was a popular Qur'an teacher who was a student of a convicted child abuser Mohammad Abdullah Saleem who is also the founder of the Institute of Islamic Education (IIE). Thank God, Wasim's wife reported him to the authorities. I hope he gets the punishment he deserves. Muslims should adopt a zero tolerance approach to sexual violence and child exploitation. No excuses should be given; even for religious leaders, Qur'an teachers, imams, and shaykhs. Wasim Sharieff is not the only sick predator who is exploiting women and girls in religious communities. My thoughts and prayers are with anyone who has been assualted or taken advantage of, especially women and children who are more vulnerable in society. May Allah punish the abusers, protect the vulnerable, and heal the victims.
