Sunland Chassis: Light & Strong! How 🤯 Sunland cracked the code over 10 years ago with a design that’s all about smart engineering and durability. Read on to find out out how 😁 Sunland Caravans have been using their proprietary hybrid steel and aluminum chassis for over a decade. Developed in collaboration with an aircraft engineer, this unique design combines a steel subframe and A-frame with aluminum components. This means the chassis has exceptional strength and durability while maintaining a lightweight construction, a key focus in caravan design. Open V-rails extend the entire length of either side of the chassis, neatly organizing the electrical and plumbing systems and providing extra protection. Cruisemaster suspension is exclusively used, and an interesting fact; Sunland was the first caravan manufacturer to use Cruisemaster suspension in a caravan! A steel subframe houses the Cruisemaster Suspension & supports 2 water tanks that are mounted in between the axles. Placement of these tanks is for optimal balance. These 2 tanks are 190 liters for general use and 60 liters for designated drinking water. Additional specially designed rotomolded water tanks are mounted on the frame in a way that allows for easy positioning forward or backward, depending on the weight distribution requirements, giving precise and consistent balance.
