Thank you! Since 2022 I have fostered 63 puppies and kittens for my local shelter. I’ve had a couple shy behavior cases and as a dog trainer I’m the perfect foster. I cannot keep all of them

I fostered over 100 cats in the last 18 months. I could keep three or I could help 100+ survive and find good homes.

agreed! there's a difference between fostering and fostering to adopt, it's okay to temporarily house an animal to keep them in a safe place & create an easier transition into another home

Just adopted a cat that was being fostered. I’m so grateful for the fosters, they walked us exactly through his favorite treats, eating habits, toys so we could have a great comfortable space for him!

this is why i don’t show myself in my videos of my fosters cuz as soon as they see u interact with them they start flooding the comments to shame and guilt u into keeping them🙄

Foster failing means there’s less room for other animals in need. It rly sucks but fostering isn’t easy and those comments don’t make it any easier

Fosters loving their foster animals should absolutely be the case, the animal should feel safe and happy there THAT IS THE POINT OF FOSTERING! People are genuinely so very dense sometimes!

As a foster, these comments fill me with unbridled rage. If I kept everybody, I'd have to stop fostering and all my future fosters would literally die.

Shaming people for not foster failing is removing another space for another shelter animal that needs it after the previous is adopted out.

Fosters are extremely important for household training. Also, a pet’s behavior in shelter usually doesn’t match out of shelter so people can find a better fit going through a foster parent

I hate that bs so much. fostering is a vital step in many dogs finding the right home. we rely on our fosters to tell us how the animal is in the home, to help choose the right adopter so many things

people dont understand that "foster fails" arent supposed to be the norm. people fostering animals are doing it for a specific reason, and helping out the animal along the way

People need to realize that if it weren’t for people who foster then so many cats and dogs would be euthanized. There’s nothing wrong with foster failing but it means less capacity for saving lives

Plus sick animals often times can’t get placed in shelters bc they’ll infect everyone else- if you foster fail- sick dogs won’t have place to go in the future
