the aerated water has little density (mostly air). Just like fresh water column has less density than salt and fish fall in column and can die from pressure change

Don't swim or surf on the south Oregon coast. Not only is it always cold and full of cragedy rock that turns you to hamburger, it also drops a few hundred feet down not to far of shore. Only tourists actually go in the water.

You do sink to the bottom and even though it is arerated the force of the wave coming down on you knocks all the air out to begin with. Had that happen at the beach one year, will never go in again.
