Children can still grow and develop, etc. I’m just recommending to be cautious because of this. This was not meant to claim to be the largest factor in the literacy crisis, just more of one than adults being encouraged to not move past children’s media. This can contribute to children struggling to learn in early ed; and it continues into later online media that children engage with as they get older - but the main reason for the literacy crisis was the lack of phonics in early ed.
