Plot Twist: The rest of the soul had ascended to God hood and arranged for the birth of my sorcerer to serve as his avatar. Sorcerer did not get a chance to tell anyone this before throwing himself into a hell dimension to hit snooze on the apocalypse.

My players spent 3 years blazing through enemies and easily destroyed the big bad (this was mostly intentional). Next session, and the new big bad made them fear death.
