@abcworldnews: A Miami-bound flight from Stockholm with 254 passengers on board encountered severe turbulence while flying over Greenland, descending over 8,000 feet. The Scandinavian Airlines flight turned around and headed back to Europe, landing in Copenhagen. @SRamosABC reports. #WorldNewsTonight #WNT #ABCNews #Plane #Turbulance
I was on this flight. We were in the air for 10hr just to go from Stockholm to Copenhagen. inconvenient, but very grateful we landed somewhere. I'm sure it was stressful for the crew.

8000 feet in 7 minutes is a very gradual, controlled decent.

“Dropped more than 8000 feet”… in 7 minutes. That’s an extremely standard descent.

I’ve been flying for over 25 years and yes the turbulence has been increasing in force.

Don’t have facilities and stuff to inspect the plane? No no, their excuse is unreasonable. They should have proceeded to US or Canada. Imagine 10 hours of travel over the Atlantic ocean to no where🥺

During this time of year in west Greenland there’s big storms called Piteraq’s. It’s a huge storm that contains a lot of wind that comes off the ice sheet. The storm is happening currently.
