Yup. My son is 18 months old we have never used an iPad or cell phone. Plan our meals out - earlier dinner, bring some snacks, small toys, etc.

I'm not so rigid. I prefer not to give my kid a screen, but there's exceptions. unreasonably long waits. having to resort to a not kid friendly restaurant for some reason. needing to talk

Amen. 3 now older teens, no screens ever. Started early, went to restaurants consistently. Family dinner is a sacred and favorite thing when we can these days. The payoff now is awesome.

I feel like adults are bad with this issue also with always having to have music playing or tv and not just sitting in silence or nature. People think I'm crazy to walk my dog with no music

We go to restaurants spontaneously all the time. We ask him a lot of questions and color a lot. Screens don’t even work for him 😂 he wants to interact and be apart of things.

We don’t do screens at dinner unless it’s a last resort but I never judge others who do. You don’t know every child’s or family’s situation

No screens at the dinner table every time at home. but if I'm taking my 3yo out to see my friend 1ce/few months and I NEED adult time, the screen comes out after all the toys I brought are done with
