I literally test if my puzzles are too hard by getting my 8yo to solve them first. if it takes 10mins, I know I have hours of content.

My party has this issue of just Bee lining it for the obvious stuff, and if it isn't obvious, it doesn't get interacted with. Genuinely wish more of my players were more curious, Theres so much missed

or they misinterpret the first clue and from there on apply that misunderstanding to all subsequent clues further pushing them away from the answer, and you can't... say... anything...

I literally used a puzzle I found on a site of puzzles for middle schoolers and my party full of 30+ year-olds took an hour on it 😅

the way i kept giving my party clues for a door hidden in the wall that was CRACKED OPEN but they all failed their perception checks and looked literally everywhere except where i tried to guide them

there was one time I created a maze with a bunch of cool encounters in it and the party took every single correct turn to avoid those encounters and exit the maze in their first try. I was so upset

Remember if your character is smarter then you, wait to see if the group can figure out the puzzle then see if you can just roll for your character to solve it.
