Fellow designer here, my general rule is there’s a time and place for anything. I don’t think all accent walls suck, but the ones with the panels like you mentioned pretty much always do hahaha

I painted an entire room but not all the same color. Using darker color to make certain features recede was very effective. We could feel the difference more than see it.

Nah, I just have an open floor plan that goes from 12” ceilings to 20” ceilings and there’s really no end or beginning from room to room. I’m not climbing scaffolding to paint the entire thing. 😂

Designers always make the “can’t commit” argument. What if we actually like the look of just one wall? It can add depth and dimension to a space in a nice way. It’s become trendy to hate accent walls
