I hired two editors, including the editor of The Hunger Games, because I’ve heard getting a literary agent is super tough. So when I end up self-publishing, the book will still be solid!!

this is a probably a really silly question. If someone asks for 10,000 words at query stage but it makes sense to the story for you to cut it off at say, 10,300 words, is that okay?

the only time you should pay for editor is when you decide to self-published but the only other scenario I can see if somebody is dyslexic but usually no😁
