Not austistic but I have severe adhd and I remember it being so bad they’d diagnosed me in first grade. Ppl act like they have it or want it but it’s miserable. I feel slower than everyone else.

I wasn’t diagnosed w AuADHD until I was literally almost 29 yo - women don’t have enough research to meet the “criteria” bc we are typically better at masking. I didn’t even ever realize what I was doing was masking - I just thought everyone had inner monologues and inner ques when interacting with people.

I want to know where I went wrong here bc my peers knew before me and made fun of me for it bc I never seemed to make sense (I’m schiz w/ ADHD). Getting a diagnosis just made me feel worse

For me, kindergarten if not pre-K. I always played alone on the playground and Teachers expressed being worried I was alone so much.

had teachers who would force me to work with kids i didn’t want for a year and i ended up getting the lowest grades i’d ever had in my life that year. i hate how people think they’re helping🤦♀️

Same. 4th grade. called out because of my space in the classroom and I started to notice and realize I was different than the other kids in school.

they put me in learning assistance to keep me away from the other children.. I was more intelligent than everyone in the classroom but I couldn't grasp social aspects so instead of helping me .

my friend and I were diagnosed early 20s and let's just say it was painfully obvious but parents never took us seriously to get checked. We were just labeled "difficult".
