I used to work at a data center that cataloged shotspotter activations (not in Chicago though). For every good activation there are literally thousands of false hits.

In milwaukee they only put the shot spotters where the black and hispanic neighborhoods are. It’s a total waste of money. Every shot spotter on the call log is reported unable to locate the shooter.
