I've stopped doing barbell squats and deadlifts for this exact reason. They're not worth the risk. Plenty of other exercises and machines that'll get the job done.

Are you claiming that Jefferson curls are particularly injurious even if loaded incrementally over time? Or just to avoid loading the spinal flexion when in recovery?

new research dropped on this. apparently it has more to do with specificity, the loads the spine is used to experiencing, and not spinal flexion itself

If your goal is to build muscle I think hack squat is the best option in my opinion.

I used to believe the same about Jefferson’s, but light weight work with them can be very beneficial

I get it if you are trapped and need to squat or leg press a car off you, but just to hit pr’s is not worth it.

if you aren't competing. no point at taking roids and lifting too heavy. The risk to reward ratio is too high. I power lifted when I was young and now my body hurts at 30 lol. Just my opinion.

Stop one is start doing reverse hypers to get fluid to the injuries area so it can heal. If you don’t have access to the machine then do it on a table
