@jessicawetz6: Replying to @Zorro 6 years I’ve been trying to get blepharoplasty surgery for ptosis that hurts my eyes (watch here ➡️) @Jessica Wetz 🍉#6 Ever since I was misdiagnosed bipolar and prescribed meds that destroyed my skin elasticity and made my lids sag. Normally it’s senior citizens whose lids sag until they can’t see properly so doctors just say im too young. It’s only a 20 minute surgery done awake with numbing for $3-6k where I live but numbing doesn’t work on me so I need to be knocked out which jacks up the price. I had to stop wearing mascara or curling my lashes in 2019 after being prescribed the wrong medication that made me gain 70lbs and caused my skin to sag dramatically and strain my lashes when I lost it. Watching my whole face melt and age 10 years at 25 was traumatic. I wish I could get a face and neck lift before perimenopause starts in 5 years and my skin crepes, otherwise surgery will be way harder. I just want my nasolabial, marionette, nasojugal, and malabar fat pad back where they would be if doctors didn’t misdiagnose me for 14 years, ruin my life and permanently change my appearance. How about the jaw under development due to no doctor noticing my very obvious devaited septum and mouth breathing while I complained of shortness of breath. I have to think about it every time I try to look forward, feel my rack fold over 6 inches lower, or look in a mirror. I made the mistake of going for Botox at Skin Girls where the doctor pointed out that my temples and under eyes hallowed out making me look tired and old so I should get some filler. You mean filler as in sue the doctor who ruined my face by misdiagnosing me at 24? Or filler as in sue every doctor before him that misdiagnosed me, leading him to do the same? Who is it that will be filling my back account to cover the cost I have to pay for their failures? No, instead I just cut my eyelish off and hurt my neck always needing to look down. The fact that you hold back from actually cutting the lid is POWERFUL. You have so much self control but like also you’re freaking me out 😅

Your Optometrist should do a visual fields test. If your upper peripheral vision is affected then your insurance is supposed to pay.

Tape your eyebrows up. don’t they make under makeup tape? So then it would only be visible if you want it to be

go to an eye doctor that specializes in everything and tell them ur eyelids are causing problems with ur vision and they will pay for a blepharoplasty.

Jennifer Parker :
get a visual field test done at the eye doctor & then ask to be referred to a plastic surgeon. that’s at least our process for bleph referrals

You have to tell the insurance it’s now affecting your vision! Trust, they will cover.

Maybe travel for the surgery? At our clinic my surgeon (oculoplastic surgeon) charges between 1800-3500 I think and has like 20 yrs experience. 8k is ridiculous to me

I was born with BPES and I’m having my 3rd blepharitis surgery in February. I’m bad with anesthesia too, so they I’m going to be awake but they’re gonna gas me.

I think u should try lymphatic massages before u get surgery or like continue cutting off your eyelashes it might help and there’s other muscle massages to lift ur eyebrows

ignore me if you've tried this already but maybe see if your ophthalmologist can help you get qualified for MSP covered lid lift? if drooping lids are affecting your range of vision msp should cover💕

Girl what province are you in? If you’re from BC, you can get referred to ophthalmologist and they will do a Bleph visual fields and if you fail the VF then you can be medically covered!
