It’s been 4.5 weeks (this was recorded at 4 weeks) since my lipedema surgery with @drariamd, where he removed 2.4 liters of pure fat from my calves and ankles! During the same procedure, @modernplasticsurgery transferred some of that fat to add more volume to my breasts. The first couple of weeks there was a lot of swelling and bruising in my lower legs. I stayed wrapped in layers of bandages and foam for 2 weeks to help manage that swelling. Now, I’ve switched to only compression pants 24/7. Sometimes, I’ll add compression socks on top of my compression pants just to target the swelling even more. My calves and ankles are overall tender. They’re not sore anymore like they were the first couple of weeks. I don’t really even notice that I had surgery on them anymore unless I specifically lean or press on them. There is still a significant amount of swelling to the point where it’s hard to visually see the results. At this point in my life, I think I’ve really figured out this whole patience thing though. 😉 I was patient through years of losing weight and getting healthier and now my recoveries require just as much patience, if not more. It’s an incredible feeling when you trust your doctors completely, so you don’t even have to worry about seeing the results early on because you’re confident in their ability and and are able to trust the process! I’m so thankful I have this with both Dr. Aria and Dr. Moshrefi! Dr. Moshrefi purified the fat that Dr. Aria removed from my calves and transferred it into my breasts. They were much larger right away but typically around 50% of the fat dissolves within the first month so I’m closer to seeing what they’ll look like long term now. I’m very happy with my results right now and my decision to move forward with the fat transfer to bring back some of the volume that I lost during my breast lift! It’s comforting knowing I’m getting my surgeries with a company like @Advanced Lipedema Treatment program that specilizes in lipedema surgeries! And I’m looking forward to having Dr. Aria remove the lipedema in my thighs next month! 🤗 #DrAriaMD #DrShawnMoshrefi #ALTProgram #Partner #lipedema *Every surgery comes with risks and everyone has to decide what the best option for them is.
