100% agree. Paul Mescal is a great actor but something was just a bit boring about his performance in Gladiator. Not bad, just wasn’t exciting.

Yeah I disagree. It was such a huge jump and so different to the roles we are use to seeing him in. For a magnitude of this film I think he nailed it.

I'd say Pedro, Fred and Joseph all outshine him although not quite as much as Denzel not a good look, but it's an unusual role for him so far

some people can’t carry a blockbuster, lesser actors can carry it off charisma, and very good actors (like Mescal) can get lost in the scope of it all

After he said there was a take where he kissed Pedro and it was cut, I wonder if there was better but Scott has bad judgment. I think a kiss in that fight would have elevated the tension and passion
