Great example is pokemon. They catered to all the modern day kids who have no patience and didnt know the struggle of leveling up your pokemons with one exp share.

Took me about 6 months to learn. Tried to get my friends to play it but after a few games they quit and never touched it again because it’s so complicated

I started out playing bots for the longest time, until I felt confident with building items and knowing what champs work for me. I play norms instead of ranked, less pressure.

It came slowly, I think at first it helped player retention and thats why studios shifted in that direction. but your first Fortnite game is a bot lobby (without noticing you) is deceptive and cheap.
