my horse did this EXACT thing when I'd saddle him and it was his last resort to tell me how much pain he was in because he had bone spurs in all 4 hooves about to burst thru the coronet band.

Im an English rider but I think he’s doing it cos the cinch is to tight on his nerve I’m not to sure though as I don’t know much about western saddles but it could be the boots as they do look new 🤣
