On 12/12/21, I graduated with my MBA in Project Management from Louisiana State University and earned my Six Sigma certification. It was a milestone years in the making. When I first pursued my bachelor’s degree decades ago, I did it quietly—at night, with the unwavering support of my family—because I wanted to keep my spiritual pursuits and my family as my highest priorities. But I also knew one truth: with only a high school diploma, I wouldn’t have the skills or opportunities to support my family in a world that was rapidly changing. People often asked me, “How are you balancing all of this?” The truth is—it wasn’t easy. I faced scrutiny, criticism, and doubt. But I ignored the naysayers because I knew education would give me options, not just jobs. During COVID, when universities shifted everything online, I made the decision to finally pursue my MBA. What did I give up? Idle time. Hours of entertainment (yes—even my beloved Korean dramas!). Because we all have the same 24 hours in a day—it’s how you use them that determines your future. I don’t apologize for my ambition. I don’t dim my light to make others comfortable. And I don’t put my clothes on for anything less than what I know I’m worth. With my degrees and certifications, I have the ability to choose where I work, how I work, and ensure my time is aligned with my values. Between 8–5, I can build a career, take care of my family, invest in myself, and still give glory to God. That’s why I chose to position myself in male-dominated industries—because I wanted to maximize my earnings for the time I choose to work. That decision gave me freedom, flexibility, and options. And this is exactly what I share in my book. My journey isn’t just about degrees—it’s about choosing courage over comfort, creating opportunities instead of waiting for them, and building a life with freedom and purpose at the center. If you’ve ever wondered if you can balance your responsibilities, your dreams, and your calling—the answer is YES. It’s not easy, but it can be done. My book, “Breaking Ground Breaking Glass Ceilings” shows you how. #MBA #SixSigma #WomenWhoLead #PurposeDriven #Unapologeticallyme
