my boss told me I can tell people happy Hanukkah after someone complained but I had to remind him that people really hate us right now and it's best if I just say happy holidays.

My grandma, born in 1905 and super catholic, used to hang a sign in her living room that said Happy Holidays. It was probably from the 50s or 60s. The outrage is new.

I unconsciously adopted "enjoy your holiday" as my phrase when I worked for a 💳 call center in the early 2000s and it stuck. inclusivity isn't hard and is usually appreciated...

Working in healthcare I always say Happy Holidays and I can’t tell you how many times people will notice, get upset, and say Merry Christmas out of spite in return. 😒
