Wrap it and paint it white so it doesn’t distract or clash with the railing. It doesn’t need to be prominent feature in any way.

I really like the wood wrap idea. Then it will blend in and hopefully disappear next to the stairs. I think white would be too eye catching

Can you not get like a metal pole to a joist in the roof to hold the platform instead of the pole on the floor? Iv no clue what I’m talking about so it’s probably not right but just a thought. But definitely something black metal.

Wrap it white too match the walls.. it’s a busy area with black when railing is done I think it will blend in the background like the walls will..
