I’ve got a secret…you might not even know God. “Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭34‬ ‭ I once thought I knew God and didn’t know him at all. I went to church every Sunday. I led worship. I even went to Bible college. I did the right things. Said the right things. Looked the part but was living for myself the whole time refusing to read his word or fast. It wasn’t until I decided to read the Bible and started fasting that the blinders and truth of the real gospel message was revealed. It breaks my heart that so many people are sitting in churches thinking they know God and being deceived by feel good messages. How can you know if they’re preaching truth without reading the Bible? I don’t mean the verse of the day. I mean the whole Bible! It all matters. Don’t start at Matthew or John! Start at Genesis! Otherwise the rest makes no sense. You’ll find out really soon that many don’t actually know God. It took reading the whole Bible several times for my eyes to open. Think about this…after Jesus died, they started telling lies about him and confusing the people so the truth wouldn’t get out. As generations go by, the enemy is doing everything in his power to get us to believe lies. To get us to worship a god we don’t even know. To convince us that obedience is null and void and life is all about us. And he’s doing a great job. The question isn’t does God love you but rather do you love God? He has nothing else to prove, the ball is in your court. Just because you prayed a prayer doesn’t equal knowing him. Your salvation isn’t in that prayer. When we love someone we spend time with them. Jesus said it best, “if you love me, you’ll obey me.” Refuse to be a statistic. You can’t get to eternity on your grandmas faith or pastors faith. You can’t even go to church enough. You must know him, hear him and serve him. It changes everything! Pick up your Bible (yes it might be flawed over the years from being translated so much but good news…the Holy Spirit will teach you through the mis translations.) and get to know your creator. #faith #family #douknow - @thecollinskids
