There are different types of gaming chairs, not all of them look like normal chairs. I got a $300 gaming rocking chair in 2019 that sits directly on the floor (no legs/wheels) and still use it today.

getting a comfortable chair is definitely worth it. a lot of gaming chairs are not comfortable despite being expensive though. an office chair is gonna be better bang for your bucks
