@justinveenema: “How many people say no?” This is one of the most popular questions I get about doing stranger portraits. The answer is simple… 8/10 people say YES (Yep, way higher than I initially thought!) But sometimes, people say no. This could happen for a number of reasons… They don’t feel comfortable, they don’t like photos of themselves, privacy concerns, etc. But you know what? It’s TOTALLY okay. It would be too easy if everyone said yes. 😅 When this happens, I treat them with respect, thank them for their time, and move on. No photogarpher should push someone to do something they don’t feel comfortable with. In this case, Tina said yes, but her friend preferred not to be on-camera. And that’s okay! I had to learn how to use the blur tool 😅 But I’m glad this was a positive interaction either way. And Tina? Yeah, she was phenomenal. Seriously… look at that smile! I don’t know how I keep meeting people with such amazing, warm smiles. But I’m here for it.
