Rent should be in line with the cpi index legally he can’t raise it this high as it’s capped it’s illegal what the landlord is doing.Seek legal advice or go to citizens advice.

My landlords own 2 estate agents, they own 20 plus houses in my town and more in another, that doesn’t include homeowners that rent theirs out through them. They bought a holiday home during covid.

He is true to some extent, it’s his house he has the rights to increase it and why don’t you have £200 saved in your bank account? Save 30 quid a month that’s more than 300

Landlord as bills to pay too so it is readable for him to do I must be lucky I have the best landlord she only put my rent up by a extra £20 a month she more like a friend to us

just pay nothing tenants have more rights than home owners nowadays it will cost him 1000s and take years to evict you and you'll save a few quid in unpaid rent ,😊

ive checked this because my landlord tried this. by law a landlord can only increase rent each year at a maximum of 9%.

gives me a bad name landlords like that. if landlords have a mortgage on their property it's interest only and you're supposed to give notice for rent increase and agreed by the tenant. 1 month min
