With an event this size, you need to have a full rain plan, especially in the case of severe weather - talk to the venue, they might have a basic rain plan that you can adapt to fit your event!

tents can become full on lightning rods or projectiles in high wind, Im in North Texas up by the red river but I definitely understand the unpredictability of tx weather

Just in case call an event rental company to see if they have available covered tent walkway things so people can be under something and shop around those outdoor vendors easily if you need

Always have a backup plan especially knowing people are traveling to your event and investing their own money into it. Ultimately if someone is hurt they can easily sue for not proper planning
