I regularly tell people that the best apology is changed behavior. Just feeling bad doesn’t help anyone. This is a great way of saying that from a different perspective.

Iron losing his son was a very tragic eye opener for iroh. He realized that this war was truly meaningless and all it brings is pain, suffering and loss, and that’s what he started to understand, he felt the pain that the other 3 nations have felt in this 100 year old war. He realized that his nation were the true monsters who preferred violence and war instead of peace. I freaking love iroh, because of him, zuko managed to change his ways 🥹

You're Aunty So Chill. :
even zukos whole story is about letting go of self hatred, not being able to help his mum to letting down his dads expectations, like his uncle, zuko is replaced by his sister, chooses to betray the avatar gang, then betrays his uncle, and because of his uncle he learns to let go of his self hatred, makes peace with his mistakes, healing his trauma and you watch this all play out through the whole show, character development at its finest from a "kids show"

After losing a child you become a completely different person. You feel guilty for just living. Empty. Nothing is worth anything but you keep going cuz u have no choice. Then ur a zombie or just numb to survive. So I get it.

Iroh’s original voice actor, Mako, sang this song for himself and passed from cancer shortly after this episode. And the newer voice actor refuses to sing it out of respect to Mako 🥺

I remember when I told my therapist "I fear I'm actually an awful person" with tears and she said "the fact that you even consider that proves you are not. Bad people don't care"

Uncle Iroh taught me more than any other character. My favourite quote was: "Pride is not the opposite of shame, but its source. True humility is the only antidote to shame." was so helpful for me

I was a monster and villian in alot of people's lives, and I also was the victim in others. I have walked both paths, learned and unlearned so much. I have forgave myself and walk with grace🖤🥀

So, having regret means that I’ve learned from my mistakes, and having learned from it means that I am no longer the person that messed up. I am a new person that can make better decisions. Nice.
