Here’s the thing, there are original movies that still come out, it’s just people don’t go see them. They rather just wait till streaming, plus also theater etiquette, prices, and schedules.

Hate to say it but I’d rather spend the $17 for a month of Streaming than 2hrs in a theatre. I’ll still go for the odd imax, but my home set up is decent enough

How are the memberships not solving this issue? AMC A-List, similar to Regal Pass, gets you up 3 movies every week in any format for ~$27/mo. Considering 1 ticket for IMAX/Dolby Cinema costs

For me, Theater Etiquette plays a roll too. I have gone to multiple showings where people are on their phones and filming content during the movie! Not acceptable when the movie is north of $15!

Ticket prices are increasing because movie theaters are offering other services like bars, servers coming in to the theater and dropping food off among actual gourmet food options.

Because of the prices people are only going to movies they are familiar with. If is the highest grossing original of the year so far however Red One could still surpass it. Regardless both lost money.

I think the theaters are not doing enough when it comes to have a lot of movies out at once and the price doesn’t help but movies are really fine and now going anywhere they are great original films

Im from Tennessee tickets are like 13-14$ regular rpx is like 17-18. Imax is 26-27 and 4dx ans screen x is 28-29

I think what they need to do first is make all movies stay in cinemas for 3 to 4 months again, re-train audiences. And also bring ticket prices down. So a few movies will have to be sacrificed to achieve this sadly

Those prices are crazy. In Puerto Rico a regular screen is like $7.50 per person & for CXC or 4D its about $13 per person.

I get it it’s annoying but to be fair if you had a movie u truly cared abt that u made and it releases in theaters and does really well why would u not continue that story and get paid more each time.

Another reason why theaters are also struggling as a result of the pandemic is the streaming services, where they created more competition, if they have the traditional release at least 6 months

the regal by my house for standard HD is 17.99 plus 1.89 fee + taxes & parking. 4DX is 24.45 a seat!!!!!

I don’t think ppl realize as the decades go on and more content comes out naturally there will be more sequels to follow. On this list 4 of the sequels are from franchises that started within the last 6 years. We still get and will continue to get loads of original content
