Yeah $100 a month until you pay off the $44K! You can not negotiate with the IRS it doesn’t work that way. You can set up payment plans as you did, but you can not get a company to say “yeah he’ll only give $100 that’s it” and then be like “sounds good”…😂😂😂😂

I owed initially 6k fed, 3k state, the lawyer from the firm handling my offer and compromise at 196/96 quit. It was going fine until then, they then sent me a letter upping it to 24k, then 33k, the they attempted a withdrawal from my bank for 38k two days before Christmas, then they sent another for 144k!!! how is thatt legal ? all for 6k?

My mom earned $6000 from her part time job in 2023; dad is on his SSI . Since last year my mom doesn’t have a job because of her illness; yesterday we received a letter from IRS owed $2499. It doesn’t mentioned why she owned that much. Dad’s disability is just enough pay their rent, they don’t have any savings or money left from SSI after paying rent. It’s stressing them now because they don’t have money to pay IRS
