Let’s chat plant transitions! Tips below. Is it summer, or is it fall? We got frost this week, flowers all died - which means it’s time to bring the green plants back inside. Was also working on washing and packing the pool towels, but now today it’s 80 degrees in MN. I’m here for it all, but I am ready for the leaves in our yard to turn. 🍂 Here’s a few tips on plant transitions - or - don’t forget about my thoughts on getting them in the ground. Plants & flowers are expensive. Don’t waste them! 🌱 Inspect & Clean: Spray plants with a mix of water and doTERRA tea tree oil to get rid of bugs and boost plant health. 🌾 Trim & Prune: Remove any dead leaves or stems to help your plants focus their energy. 💧 Adjust Watering: Indoor plants need less water—watch for overwatering! 🌼 Look for perennial plants in your baskets before you throw them out - like hostas, ferns, creeping jenny—these can go in the ground and will come back next year. 🌱 Dig up bulbs (like lilies or dahlias) and plant them directly in the ground for regrowth next season. 🍁 Mums: Get your mums in the ground before frost, and they’ll bloom again next year! Idk why these are classified an annual. 🪴 Canna Lilies - Store for Winter: Clean up the pots, leave the leaves, and place them in a dark corner of your shop or garage. Don’t touch or water them during the winter months. ☀️ Sunlight Check: Make sure to give your plants a spot with similar light to what they had outside. ✨ Bring in Your Pots: Ceramic and clay pots can crack in winter—store them inside!
