If you try to re-enter the U.S. after such a long absence, immigration officials at the airport can charge you as a lawful permanent resident who has abandoned their residence. You could be: 1️⃣ Paroled into the U.S. to appear before an immigration judge, who may order your deportation. 2️⃣ Found inadmissible if you admit to abandoning your residence, and returned to your home country.
