@krisbuchowicz: Toyota has finally released its Tundra engine recall. This recall involves replacing the entire engine assembly, including both turbos. This recall can only be performed at a Toyota dealership by a Toyota-certified technician. The recall is being released in four different phases, and Phase 1 is out now. Phase 1 includes vehicles that need to be sold, as these units cannot be sold with active recalls, and any customer whose vehicle is currently at the dealership and affected by this engine failure. All other phases will most likely be released for vehicles from the oldest to the newest models. Toyota will send letters to owners affected by this recall. However, if you own a Tundra, you can always contact your nearest Toyota dealership and provide them with your VIN number. They will let you know if your vehicle is affected or if you are part of Phase 1. #toyotatundra #recall #safetyrecall #engine #replacement #mechanic #dealership #cartok #turbo
I love Toyota at least they’re taking ownership and the responsibility for their mistake unlike Chevy Ford, etc.

My tundra has been sitting at the dealer for 5 months. I don’t trust them to replace the engine. I’m going through the Lemon process now.

If you have one of the affected tundras but not having problems. Don’t get it in line to have it done. Wait till your engine blows up or drive it for 200,000 miles and then cash in on a free engine.

One thing about Toyota they stand behind their products and not like GM Ford and Chrysler that give you the runaround

Imagine having an engine replaced by some mechanic at your local dealership and not in a factory. I bet they scratch the hell out of your truck at the minimum

Wonder what the recall pays the “certified tech”?? Is it over 4 hours? Yeah, that’s why my tools are sitting at my house and will be forever lol
